The last major hurdle to the completion of your renovation is where the project really takes visible shape. Again, communication could be imperative to avoid delays as different tradesmen may be working in tandem.
The electrician will connect the consumer unit, light fittings, switches, the kitchen extractor hood, the television and telephone wiring and any other home automation.
The plumber will install the boiler, radiators and bathroom, and if connection help is required by the kitchen fitter, it will be now that it will be needed.
The carpenter will hang the doors, fix the skirting and architraving, mouldings and any other woodwork or joinery that is required at this stage.
The kitchen is also ready for installation. As all three of the trades above could be involved in this, from cutting and fitting wooden worktops, to plumbing in the washing machine, to wiring up the cooker, it is important that everyone knows who is doing what.
If the project is taking place in the winter it will be most welcome when the plumber and electrician commission the heating system.
