Don't Forget 1 Preparing the walls before painting and decorating is not a job to be taken lightly. Any old pot of filler and a quick sand may do the job, but not in every case. It is well worth reading advice and looking at tips and tricks before selecting and using your filler.
2 Caulking is the often overlooked aspect of decorating. A bead of caulk above every skirting board and around every door and window, gets rid of holes, cracks and blemishes. It blurs the visible image between edges and smooths out untidy connections between hard surfaces. 3 A pack of five paint brushes for a fiver may sound like a good deal. If you don't want tiny hairs left on walls and doors, and you do want a smooth finish, buy a good brush - and clean it afterwards. |
